Each year, millions of tonnes of plastic find their way into our oceans. These plastics come from a diverse range of sources - from commercial and recreational ships and vessels, fishing and aquaculture operations, to land based sources, street litter, dumping, packaging (including plastic bags), plastic sheeting and production waste. Collectively, small steps can have huge impacts on a healthier planet and more sustainable future.

We are always looking at ways in which we can be more ethical and kinder to the environment, and we are proud to have committed to using sustainable (and beautiful) swim textiles that offer a way in which to significantly reduce the textile industry’s environmental impact - through the minimisation of C02 Omissions, crude oil waste & disregarded materials.

We use ECONYL® regenerated nylon for our swimwear. It is a perfect choice for us, as it is not only extremely sustainable, but has been shown through rigorous wear testing to be extremely soft, durable, and twice as resistant to chlorine over standard swim textiles.
Here's how it works.

The Regeneration system starts with rescuing waste such as fishing nets from the oceans and aquaculture, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill and ocean litter, rescued through various initiates worldwide. The waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.

Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back into its original purity. That means the regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

The regenerated nylon is processed into textile yarn, and knitted into high quality fabric in Italy.

The end result is beautiful ALULU swimwear using nylon that has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality. Once the products have been used many times and are no longer useful, our hope is that they can then go back into step 1 of the regeneration process.

It makes us so proud to be a part of this, we couldn't do it without you!
